Was the early invasion in France a net gain for England?
No. English finances were exhausted and he had to settle for peace in 1514. France continued to pay Henry VII pension, Henry kept conquests and married off his sister to Louis XII - losing important player in marriage market.

Son of Ipswich Butcher; gained degree form Oxford at 15; a great flatterer of the King - changing his position on war with France when he realised the Kings support.
What was Wolsey’s role under Henry VII?
Was his Chaplain and later Dean of Lincoln and was sent on diplomatic missions
Why was Wolsey able to make his mark early on?
Some of Henry VII’s most important ministers had been removed (Dudley and Empson), or others wanted to retire (Fox and Warham)
Where did Wolsey first make his mark and what impression did he make on the King?
France 1513, where he took on logistical and organisatoinal tasks, which many officials didn’t want because of the difficulty.
Wolsey ignored the rights of those in authority to meet the Kings wishes.
Complaints were made against Wolsey, wich only increased his standing with the King as he was seen to be able to carry out wishes and overcome obstacles.
When was Wolsey appointed Lord Chancellor and Papal Legate?
Lord Chancellor in 1515, Papal Legate 1518 (later given position for life in 1524. Seen as chief minister in around 1514.
