A

First major foreign policy happened in Brittany.
France invaded Brittany 1487 and Henry believed that if France took over then there would be French threat to England.
Agreed Treaty of Redon 1489.
Tried to strengthen position with Maximilian as had contracted marriage by proxy with Anne of Brittany.
Anne went onto marry Charles VIII.
Henry regained land with invasion in 1492, as Charles much more interested in Italy

-Henry Wanted the ‘Pale’ area to be under English control and put Prince Henry in charge and Sir Edward Poynings as deputy
-Initially successful and Poynings law in 1495 Irish parliament pass no law without approval from England
-1496 Kildare saw no point in opposing Henry and by 1500 had some kind of peace.
