Support for the Earl of Suffolk appeared so Henry tried to reinstate the ban but instead agreed to move trade
Who was John Cabot and what did he do?
He was a fisherman who sailed in 1497 and found Newfoundland as well as extensive fishing grounds. He sailed again in 1498 but never returned, however he proved there was a substantial land mass within reasonable sailing from Europe

John Cabot’s son, led an unsuccessful voyage to find the north-west passage to Asia
