Where Did henry VII claim to the throne come from?
His mother Margaret Beaufort, she was related to the third son of Edward III, john of gaunt (who was the founder of the house of Lancaster)
The Beaufords were illegitimate but were made legitimate in the 14th century as long as they couldnt claim the throne of England
Who was Henry VII dad?
His dad was Edward Tudor, whose dad Owen Tudor had married the widow of Henry V who was called Catherine
Why was Henrys claim to the throne weak?
It was through an illegitimate family and also since it was through his mother Margaret Beauford this would class as a maternal claim which is through a woman making it signicantly weaker then if it was through a man.
As women were seen as to weak to rule so any claim though a man was stronger.
Who was John De La Pole and what was his claim the throne of England?
John de la pole was the earl of Lincoln and he was the leading Yorkist claimant. He was the nephew of Edward IV and Richard III and during richards reign he had been the heir presumptive.
He was a real threat to henry as he was a potential figurehead of a yorkist rising.
Who was Edward Plantagenet and what was his claim to the throne?
He was the earl of Warwick and he was the nephew of Edward IV and Richard III. However in 1485 when henry VII claimed the throne he was only 10 years old, this made it easier for henry to control him. Edward was placed in the Tower of London where he spent the rest of his life.

Who were the two sons of Edward IV?
His sons were Richard and Edward they were known as the princes in the tower they had disappeared at the start of richard iii reign in 1483 and most likely they were dead. Richard iii was Edward V regent allowing him power over the child.

Despite being Lancastrian he promised to marry Elizabeth of York who was Edward IV eldest daughter he promised this in 1485.

He had won the battle of bosworth in 1485 during which several of the leading supporters of richard iii had been killed or captured.
What happened with richard iii and the princes in the tower?
Richard iii took the throne in 1483 he did this by usurping the rightful heir who was Edward V. Richard claimed that the children of Edward IV were illegitimate to help him claim the throne. Edward and richard (the two sons) were then put in the tower and were gradually seen less and less. Presumably having been murdered. The disappearance of the princes was considered an outrage leading many people to support henry Tudor as a result of richard III actions.

he was one of the pretenders who was against henry VII and he pretended to be Edward Earl of Warwick. he was a 10 year old son of a joiner from Oxford, Richard Simons who trained him to act as if he were a royal prince

JOHN DE LA POLE attended a council meeting to discuss the measures against the plot. however he then fled to BURGUNDY in APRIL and joined FRANCIS LOVELL

she used her money to help Lovell and De La Pole raise troops. she then helped them raise 2000 german mercenaries who were led by MARTIN SCHWARTZ
