How many sons did Henry have and who was his favourite?
Henry had four sons - Henry, Richard, Geoffrey and John (eldest to youngest). His favourite child was John but his wife’s favourite child was Richard.
What was the story of his Henry’s sons plotting against him and why did they?
His sons plotted against him because his eldest child, Henry, was in Paris so his wife and other children left for Paris. They left because Henry II had had an affair and because the power he promised his wife was not what he had promised and she was angry. She told her sons to join their brother in Paris but she never made it across - she was captured by Henry’s men and then imprisoned by him. She was then released when he died on the orders of her favourite child, Richard who was king after Henry.
