Small,Pleomorphic
Gram -ve coccobacilli
Have polysaccharide capsule
Six serotypes (a-f)
Need factor X(Heme) and Factor V(NAD)
Vaccine:Type B Capsular polysaccharide
Causes of meningitis in Neonate
Group B streptococci (dysgalactiae?agactiae??)
Listeria monocytogens
G-ve bacilli(E.Coli,Proteus)

Hemophilus influenza

Streptococcus pneumoniae
