plasma hemoglobin, serum bilirubin and lactate dehydrogenase, and urine urobilinogen.
presence of hemoglobinuria and hemosiderinuria;
IN excessive extravascular there can be hemoglobinemia and decreased haptoglobin levels

the protoporphyrin rings are metabolized into bilirubin and urobilinogen; the globin chains recycled into the amino pool; the iron carried by transferrin to marrow for new cells or storage as ferritin or hemosiderin
