ITP

A

Platelets >30 and asymptotic or minor purpura: do not require treatment

Platelets <20 and significant mucous membrane bleeding
Or platelets <10 and minor purpura: should be treated
-IVIG or oral prednisone
-IV anti-D (if Rh positive)
-Splenectomy (life threatening bleeding)
-Platelet transfusion (controls severe hemorrhage)
-Avoid aspirin/NSAID
-No contact sports
