  • Slowly progressive malignancy of B lymphocytes that results in accumulation of small, incompetent B cells
  • Asymptomatic. Fatigue, LAD, HSM.
  • Lymphocyte count greater than 5000
  • B-cell antigens: CD19/20/23, t cell antigen
  • smudge cells, warm antibody AI hemolytic anemia
  • BMT + all others

  • Accumulation of hairy cells and reticulin fibrosis in bone marrow
  • Splenomegaly. Bleeding. Infxns. Thrombocytopenia and leukcytopenia.
  • Stains TRAP+
  • Hair. Fried egg.
  • 2-CdA

  • Pancytopenia and associated sx’s
  • MPO. Sudan black stain. KIT.
  • Auer rods
  • All trans retinoic acid
