When they arrived, they seemed tired because They had gone out the night before and had not slept
What is The tense used to express the past of the past?
Ex: Robert n’pas dîné avec nous parce qu’il avait déjà mangé.
Robert did not have dinner with us because he had already eaten.
Pluperfect
Auxiliary verb (avoir, etre) in imperfect + past participle.
What is the tense?
Nous avons dansé.
Passe compose
We danced
Form the past participle for Danser

Passe compose does not change The verb tense, only the auxiliary

How do you conjugate the imperfect?
Ex: travailler
Take the present tense nous form, remove the “ons” and ass the imparfait ending.
