Grades tonsils
Assesses tonsils for erythema and exudate
Assesses posterior pharynx for cobblestoning/ post-nasal drip
Neck
Inspects for Symmetry, edema, lesions
Ausculates carotids for bruits using bell
Palpates carotids (unilaterally) and grades (bilaterally)
Otoscope Exam
Inspects external canal with otoscope
Notes presence of cerumen (location, color, quantity)
Assesses tympanic membrane color (Pearly gray)
Notes visualization of cone of light and location ( Left, Right)
Notes convexity and integrity of tympanic membrane
