Hebrews Flashcards
Hebrews 10:32-39
- Therefore, do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.
32-39Remember those early days after you first saw the light? Those were the hard times! Kicked around in public, targets of every kind of abuse—some days it was you, other days your friends. If some friends went to prison, you stuck by them. If some enemies broke in and seized your goods, you let them go with a smile, knowing they couldn’t touch your real treasure. Nothing they did bothered you, nothing set you back. So don’t throw it all away now. You were sure of yourselves then. It’sstilla sure thing! But you need to stick it out, staying with God’s plan so you’ll be there for the promised completion.
It won’t be long now, he’s on the way;
he’ll show up most any minute.
But anyone who is right with me thrives on loyal trust;
if he cuts and runs, I won’t be very happy.
But we’re not quitters who lose out. Oh, no! We’ll stay with it and survive, trusting all the way.
Hebrews 13:5
Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Hebrews 4:16
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 12:1-4
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted. In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.

Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
Hebrews 5:7-9
In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence. Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered. And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him
Hebrews 10:23
Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.
Hebrews 10:19-22
A Call to Persevere in Faith
19Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidenceto enter the Most Holy Placeby the blood of Jesus,20by a new and living wayopened for us through the curtain, that is, his body,21and since we have a great priestover the house of God,22let us draw near to Godwith a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscienceand having our bodies washed with pure water.
Hebrews 10:12-13
12But after He stepped up to offer His single sacrifice for sins for all time, He sat downin the position of honorat the right hand of God.13Since then, He has been waiting for the day when He rests His feet on His enemies’ backs,[a]as the psalm says.
Hebrews 10:16-22
“But when those days are over,” says the Eternal One, “I will make
thiskind ofcovenant with the peopleof Israel:
I will put My laws in their hearts
and write them upon their minds,”[d]
then He adds,
17I will erase their sins and wicked acts out of My memory
as though they had never existed.[e]
18When there is forgiveness such as this, there is no longer any need to make an offering for sin.
19So, my friends, Jesus by His blood gives us courage to enter the most holy place.20He has created for us a new and living way through the curtain, that is, through His flesh.21Since we have a great High Priest who presides over the house of God,22let us draw near with true hearts full of faith, with hearts rinsed clean of any evil conscience, and with bodies cleansed with pure water.23
The Voice
Hebrews 10:35-39
Remember this, and do not abandon your confidence, which will lead to rich rewards.36Simply endure, for when you have done as God requires of you, you will receive the promise.37As the prophet Habakkuk said,
In a little while,only a little longer,
the One who is coming will come without delay.
38But My righteous one must live by faith,
for if he gives up his commitment,
My soul will have no pleasure in him.[i]
39My friends, we are not those who give up hope and so are lost; but we are of the company who live by faith and so are saved.
