Heart And Blood Vessle Flashcards
Name 4 chambers of the heart
Right Atria, Right Ventricle, left atria, and left ventricle.
What is between the right and left part?
Septum
What is the thing between Atrium and Ventricle?
Atrioventicular Valve
What is between the ventricles and the blood vessel?
Semi-lunar Valve
Why does left ventricle has the thickest wall muscle?
Because it pumps all over the body
Name the vessel that distributes blood around the heart
Coronary artery
Vessel from heart to lungs
Pulmonary artery
Vessel from lungs to heart
Pulmonary vein
Vessel from heart to body
Aorta
Vessel from body to heart
Vena cava (inferior for lower part and superior for upper part)
What is single circulation
A circulation when blood only needs to go through the heart one time before it finishes one journey (fish)
What is double circulation
Double circulation is when blood needs to go past the heart twice before it finishes one journey (mammals)
Explain the journey of blood in single circulation
Heart - gills - body - heart
Explain the journey of blood in two circulation (human)
Body - vena cava - right atrium - right ventricle - pulmonary artery - lungs - pulmonary vein - left atrium - left ventricle - aorta - body
What is artery (and explain its traits)
Artery is the blood vessel that take blood away from the heart. It has high pressure inside, thick wall, narrow and elastic lumen (the hollow part where blood flows) and no valves
What is vein (and it’s traits)
Vein is the blood vessel that takes the blood into the heart. It has a low pressure inside, thin wall, wide lumen (the hollow part where blood flows), and some valves
What is capillaries (and it’s traits)
Capillaries is the vessel that distributes the blood all around the body to let it transfer its nutrients that it carries to the cells. It has a very low pressure inside, one cell thick (aka very thin) wall, very narrow lumen (the hollow part where blood flows) (blood have to squeeze through it) and no valves.
What is deoxygenated blood?
Blood with low oxygen levels
What is oxygenated blood?
Blood with high oxygen levels
What does blood carry?
Oxygen, nutrients, and hormones
Scientist gave a title in front of the name of the blood vessel to mark where it’s connected to. What name does they gave for heart?
Coronary
Scientist gave a title in front of the name of the blood vessel to mark where it’s connected to. What name does they gave for lungs?
Pulmonary
Scientist gave a title in front of the name of the blood vessel to mark where it’s connected to. What name does they gave for liver?
Hepatic
Scientist gave a title in front of the name of the blood vessel to mark where it’s connected to. What name does they gave for kidney?
Renal
What is plasma
The “water” part of blood that is 55% of the blood composition. It’s used to transport the nutrients to the body
What is hemoglobin?
Is a protein who makes the blood able to carry blood (and makes it red)
What type of white blood cell who is the one to eat the pathogen
Phagocytes (the one with something similar to a stomach
Type of white blood cell to produce an antibody
Lymphocyte (drawn almost full)
What does platelets do?
Clot the blood when a bleeding occurs.
Who have and don’t have nucleus?
Have:
Lymphocyte
Phagocyte
Plasma
Don’t have:
Red blood cell
Platelets
