What characterizes a Present Sense Impression?
It is a non-emotional observation made at the time of the event.
Give an example of a Present Sense Impression.
“I saw the car go through the red light.”
Other examples include: “The man was walking down the street wearing a black hat.” and “The woman was wearing a yellow dress as she crossed the street.”
What is a Not Present Sense Impression?
A statement made after the event has occurred.
Give an example of a Not Present Sense Impression.
“Call wife 12 hours later to say, ‘I saw the car go through the red light.’”
Other examples include: “Call wife 12 hours later to say, ‘The man was walking down the street wearing a black hat.’”
What is an Excited Utterance?
A statement made while excited.
