Health
Multitude of services rendered to individuals, families or communities by the agents of the health services or professions for the purpose of promoting, preventing, maintaining, monitoring or restoring health.
Health Care
A mechanism for providing services that meet the health-related needs of individuals. Is an integral part of the government, responsible to central authority and interrelated in its activities with a general conduct to governmental affairs.
Health Care Delivery System

World Health organization (WHO)
serves as the national social health insurance agency which purchases services from public & private providers in behalf of its members.
PhilHealth
in charge of the delivery of devolved primary and secondary health services at subnational level

Components of Iron Triangle of Health Care:
COST - Acceptable cost to society.
QUALITY - Assurance of quality workforce, services and institutions
ACCESS - Appropriate access to necessary healthcare services
Levels of Health care Facilities:
Primary Care, Secondary Care, Tertiary Care
Management of chronic diseases, and rehabilitation support services to slow down the progression of diseases.
Tertiary Prevention
Health Assessment & screening to facilitate early identification of chronic diseases
Secondary Prevention
Health promotion, advisory and counselling services & educational programs to drive changes for the prevention of chronic diseases
Primary Prevention
Aims to decrease the risk to a client (individual or community) of disease or dysfunction. Focuses on General Health Promotion; Protection against specific illnesses (e.g., Teaching, Lifestyle Promotion, Immunizations)
Primary Care
Examples of primary level of healthcare:
rural health units, their sub-center, chest clinics, malaria eradication units, and schistosomiasis control units (DOH); puericulture centers (League of Puericulture Centers); tuberculosis clinics and hospitals of the Philippine
Tuberculosis.

Mainly provide primary care services in health
centers.
Municipalities
Provide primary-level care in infirmaries and secondary-level care in district hospitals (Level 1) and provincial hospitals (Level 2).
Provinces
Provide primary and secondary services however a few large cities may operate tertiary-level hospitals (Level 3).
Cities
operates tertiary-level hospitals in the NCR as well as in the varlous regions of the country. There are other National Govemment agencies that run tertiary
hospitals icluding the military and University of the
Philippines.
