What is food poisoning?
Food poisoning is an illness you get by eating contaminated food. Food is contaminated if there is something in it which should not be there, things like bacteria and other microbes
What are the causes of food poisoning?
1) Eating foods that contains chemicals and metals.
2) Eating poisonous plants.
Name foods that are high-risk foods?
Meat, poultry, eggs, stocks, shellfish, cooked rice, fish, dairy products, gravies, sauces, seafood.
How does bacteria makes us ill?
Some bacteria have to be inside your body to make you ill. Once inside you, the bacteria attack your body causing illness. Some produce a toxin on the food which makes you ill when you eat it.
How does bacteria multiply?
Bacteria reproduce rapidly by dividing into 2, which is known as binary fission. The ideal conditions for bacteria to grow is food + moisture + warmth + time.
