How you dress?
Before starting your work with tools and equipment, especially machines, remove or tuck in ties and tie back long hair: wear aprons or overalls to protect clothes and stout shoes; wear special protective clothing when required
How you behave
Behave sensibly at all times; move around with care and carry tools sensibly; report immediately and accident of breakage; you are responsible for your friends safety, so be vigilant when you and they are using tools
Safe working practice
Keep your work area clean and tidy; check the conditions of tools and report any which are blunt or broken; when using sharp edged tools remember to keep both hands behind the blade; clean equipment and the work area after use ; report faults and problems
Sage working environment
leave hot tools and metals in a safe place to cool, inform others by using a hot sign; always read the instructions on chemicals, glues, solvents etc.; consult your teacher about the disposal of any chemical waste, including paper towels and clothes; avoid inhaling large amount of dust - wear a face mask when using power sanders; clean and wash your hands throughly after work
