-Ensure high rise/multi occupancy residential buildings are designed, constructed, managed safely
-Applies responsibilities to owners, managers, designers, contractors, developers

-These duty holders responsible for golden thread ‘ of information to hand over to client on fire safety
-Act overseen by Building Safety Regulator
-‘Responsible Person’ for fire safety
-Primary legislation

Principal Designer does:

A

-Someone who has ‘ability to influence design’, responsible during design phase

-Help client compile pre-construction information and make them aware of their duties

-Design to ensure H&S risks eliminated or controlled through planning/managing/monitoring of design

-Work with other designers to coordinate works

-Prepare H&S file at end of project to pass to client

What I did in design risk register:

A

-Identified live mains on job - ensure sufficient programming to allow this to happen OR reduce flow/depressurisation if not possible
-Battered/stepped excavation with safe access due to deep excavations
-Temporary works assessment as deeper than 1.2m
-Work is in street so ensure sufficient traffic lights and area for van to be parked to allow taper of traffic cones
-Barriers around manholes
-High prevalence of underground services so ensure surveys and cat & genny used
