Q

How do you calculate your target heart rate zone for a man who

a. Is 40 years old
b. Has a RHR of 68bpm
c. Wants to train at an intensity of 70% - 80%

A

FORMULA:
(HRR x 0.7) + RHR = Lower limit
(HRR x 0.8) + RHR = Upper limit

CALCULATION:
HRR = MHR - RHR
(220 - 40) - 68
180 - 68
HRR = 112

(112 x 0.7) + 68 = Lower limit
(112 x 0.8) + 68 = Upper limit

  1. 4 = LOWER
  2. 6 = UPPER

..yeah its confusing af
