dental, and mental healthcare documentation, regardless of medium, for individuals receiving care in the Military Health System

(AHLTA) do?
The EHR system used by the DoD primarily for outpatient care.
Authorized Personnel
Personnel who, through a verification process, have presented a legitimate requirement to access medical records.
Beneficiary
A person eligible to receive care in an MTF.
What does CHCS stand for
Composite Health Care System
Composite Health Care System (CHCS)
- A mainframe-based system that allows clinicians to electronically perform patient appointment processes and scheduling, order laboratory tests, authorize radiology procedures, and prescribe medications.
Dental Treatment Facility (DTF)
- A stand-alone, fixed facility of the DoD that is outside of a deployed environment and used primarily for dental care and services.
Disposition
The method in which a health record is managed after its period of active use.
Electronic Health Record (EHR)
The electronic portion of a Service member’s health record. This health record may be comprised of Essentris®, AHLTA, and/or MHS GENESIS® documentation.
