Poverty
Poverty directly links into all the other factors. Poverty links into lifestyle choices as poorer people are more likely to do thing such as smoking which is bad for a person’s health. Poverty also links with geographical location as poorer people typically tend to live in more run down areas and poverty links with gender as women are more likely to feel the effects of health inequalities.
Poverty Example
The Black Report of 1980 highlighted the link between poverty and poor health. It concluded that while the health of the nation had improved, inequalities in health between the higher and lower classes was widening.
Lifestyle Choices
These include things such as smoking, obesity and alcohol consumption.
