Sex
Sex is usually considered as the set of biological attributes that differentiate humans (and other animals) as being either female or male and as such is universal.
Gender
Gender traditionally denotes having either a male or female proscribed normative role in society.
Intersex
General term used for a variety of conditions in which a person is born with sexual or reproductive anatomy that does not fit the typical physical definitions of female or male
Why are intersex children vulnerable?

What are the requirements from the gender recognition act to legally allow a person to be recognised in their experienced gender
The requirements are that they must have persistent gender dysphoria for 2 years and evidence from a doctor or a psychologist specializing in gender identity.
Clinical interventions for transitioning adults
Endocrine- Cross-sex hormone treatment (testosterone or estrogen)
Non-Surgical- Social transition support, hair removal, tattoo (areolae)
Surgical- Chest, Uro-Genital, Facial
Clinical Interventions: Children and Adolescents
Endocrine- Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone Agonists (GnRH) at the onset or during puberty
From 16 cross-sex hormone treatment (Testosterone, Estrogen) can be prescribed
Non-Surgical-Social transition support
Surgical- Chest surgery may be considered prior to 18
Gender dysphoria
a strong desire to be of the other gender or an insistence that he or she is the other gender
