Health and safety executive (HSE) -
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is responsible for preventing workplace deaths, injuries, and illnesses. They use a variety of methods to influence change and assist people in managing risks at work, including: Providing advice, guidance, and information. Engaging and influencing workplaces to raise awareness.
Equality Act 2010
- legally protects people from discrimination in the workplace and society. It sets out different ways in which it’s unlawful to treat people.
Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulation 1995 (RIDDOR)
- RIDDOR is the the law that requires employers and other people in charge of work premises to report and keep records of work related accidents which cause serious injury or death.
Data Protection Act
- The data protection act was an act of parliament designed to protect personal data stored on computer or in organised paper filing systems.

Disclosure and Barring service (DBS)
- the DBS helps employers in the UK make safer recruitment decisions and prevent unsuitable people from working with vulnerable groups.
Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH)
- States the responsibilities of employers in the control of hazardous substances. The regulations cover chemicals, fumes, vapours, dust, gases and germs that cause diseases.
