Industrial methylated spirit (70% alcohol)
When are the Cat 3 labs fumigated (with formaldehyde)?
Before servicing or after large spill in cabinets
Are sharps bins fully closed before going into autoclave? + why?
No, so that clave steam can penetrate into bin
(then bin is shut fully and sent for incineration)
What temperature and time does the autoclave usually go for? + range of other cycles
127°C for 1 hour, 121°C to 134°C
What temperature is required for incineration?
1200°C
What’s the estates extension number?
20600 (reporting leaking taps, toilet cisterns, etc)
