What’s the difference between a hazard and a risk?
A
A hazard identifies something with the potential to cause harm.
A risk is the likelihood of the harm being realised.

A
- Adequate training of staff to ensure health and safety procedures are understood and adhered to
- Adequate welfare provisions for staff at work
- A safe working environment that is properly maintained and where operations within it are conducted safely
- Suitable provision of relevant information, instruction and supervision
For workplaces with five or more employees, employers must keep a written record of their health and safety policy
