Health definition
It is a state of phycological and mental well being.
What is a communicable disease?
can be transferred between organisms.
What is a non-communicable disease?
can’t be transferred between organisms.
How can ill-health be caused?
By both types diseases interacting.
What are Pathogens?
They are microorganisms which cause communicable disease and they can be present in plants and animals.
What are the Bacteria?
They are very small living cells which produce very rapidly in the body
What are Viruses?
They reproduce rapidly in cells, they reproduce rapidly in the body
How does Bacteria make you feel ill?
they can make toxins to damage the person’s tissue and cells for ill health
How does Viruses make you feel ill?
they live inside the cell and replicate themselves and burst, this is what makes you feel ill.
What are Protists?
They are all eukaryotes and they are single-celled some are parasites and there are lots of them.
What are Parasites?
They live on or inside the organism and can cause damage, they are often transferred to the organism by a vector
What are Fungi?
They are single-celled organisms, some called hyphae penetrate the human skin and cause disease.
What ways can Pathogens be spread?
Water (dirty), Air, Direct Contact (contaminated surfaces)
