- Premonitory: symptoms occur days before migraine
- Aura: warning sign before or w/ HA
- Headache: throbbing unilateral HA
- Postdrome: pain subsides

A
- Bilateral
- base of skull
- notes caused by muscle contractions
- constant, squeezing tightness

Characteristics of Tension HA
A
- palpable neck and shoulder muscle tension
- stiff neck
- tenderness
- constant feeling of pressure

Cluster HA
A
- notes severe form of VASCULAR headache
- unilateral
- localized to eye or orbit

A
- 5min- 3 hrs
- dropping of eyelid on affected side
- watering of eye
- nasal congestion
- penetration pain

Pharmacological management Migraine, Cluster, & Tension HA
A
- Tripitan: Sumatriptan (Imitrex) *ALL except Tension HA
- o2 therapy (Cluster HA)
- NSAIDS or Tylenol. Can be combined with muscle relaxant, tranquilizer, or sedative (Tension HA)
