Diffuse or posterior aspect of head
No associated migraine or autonomic features

Features of cluster headaches
Stabbing, excruciating headache
Often around orbit
Lasts up to 3 hours, several times a day for several days/weeks then resolves for several weeks/months
Mx of cluster headache
Sumatriptan
High flow oxygen
Secondary headaches
Medication overuse
Head trauma
Raised ICP
Infection
Red flag symptoms of a headache
Worse on lying, coughing or straining Wakes patient up Associated with confusion Vomiting Changes in personality or behaviour
Red flag signs of headache
Visual field defects Squint Cranial nerve abnormalities Abnormal coordination Gait - UMN or cerebellar signs Papilloedema Bradycardia Cranial bruit
