O: superficial part: zygomatic process ( maxilla ) inferior border of zygomatic arch
Deep part : posterior aspect of inferior border of zygomatic arch
I: sup: angle & ramus of mandible
Deep: superior ramus & coronoid process of mandible
A: elevation of mandible ( clenches teeths)
Protract mandible( ant fibre) retract ( post)
N: trigiminal n
Notes : Prime mover in elevation of the mandible ( close mouth)
Considered Strongest Muscle in the body

Lateral Pterygoid

A

Superior : o : Greater wing of sphenoid / I: capsular , Articular disc of tml
Inferior o: lateral surface of lateral pterygoid plate / I: neck of Mandible condyle
A: protraction & Depression of Mandible ( open Jaw )
Lateral deviation of mandible to side
N: trigiminal 5
Notes : only muscle of Mastication open Jaw!!!!
B/c of attachtment point, associated with tmj

A: Elevation of mandible (,cletch teeth
