What is hedrin and how should it be applied?
Hedrin contains the compound dimeticone, this product is a physical agent. The lotion is applied to DRY HAIR and spread evenly from root to tips. Left on for 8 hours (overnight preferable). A second dose should be applied 7 days later
Can hedrin be used in pregnancy?
Yes according to current PIL
What risk warning should you give patients regarding head lice products?
Risk of serious burns if exposed to open flames or other sources of ignition (cigarettes).
After the second application of the physical agent what should be done?
Detection combing should be carried out after the complete course treatment
What method do head lice transmit?
Head to head contact, fleeting contact is insufficient!
Can a child who is 10 months old use dimeticone?
NO hedrin is licensed for >2

Can dimethicone products be used whilst hair is wet?
NO, the hair must be dry to allow it to exert its effect
