Hashimoto’s Disease

A

Most common type of thyroiditis and most common cause of hypothyroidism. Progressive autoimmune thyroid disorder; production of antibodies in response to thyroid antigens and the replacement of normal thyroid structures with lymphocytes and lymphoid germinal centers. Often associated with type 1 diabetes, celiac disease and Addison’s disease.
