1 walk never run. 2 wipe split liquids immediately.
3 knives sharp point down
4 saucepan handles face inwards.
5 pot stand ready for hot objects
6 wear oven gloves.
Personal hygiene rules.
- Wash hands
- Jewellery
- No nail polish.
- Cuts waterproof plaster.
- Tie back hair.
- Apron
- No sneeze/cough.
8.do not eat or drink.
Kitchen hygiene rules.
1.clean dishcloth wipe desks/sink.
2.cleqn tea towel to dry dishes.
3.check equipment and kitchen utensils are clean.
4. Spray desks with antibacterial and dry before food prep.
5. Red chopping = raw meat.
6. Green chopping=bread cooked meat, fruit & veg.
A BURN is caused by..
dry heat e.g. grill.
A SCALD is caused by
moist heat. E.g. steam from kettle.
First aid treatment burn:
Run under cold water for 20 mins until the pain subsides.
First aid minor cut
Washed cool water. Dried clean paper towel. Cover blue plaster.
Why use blue plaster?
So if it goes in your food you can see it.
Safety, personal Hygiene or kitchen hygiene?
Before I begin to prepare food I must wash my hands in hot soapy water.
