Domain Security Policy
Rules that dictate which security group can view or modify data within the domain.
Business Processes
Workday-delivered processes. Cannot create new BPs but you can configure/copy BPs.
Business Process Policy
Rules that dictate which security groups can participate in the business process and in what ways they can participate.
Functional Area
Represent the main grouping of delivered domains and BP types. These groupings are typically for a specific module or area of Workday, such as Procurement, Integrations, or Personal Data.
Functional Areas can be enabled or disabled.
User-Based Security
Manually Assigned to a person. Follows user to different positions. Unconstrained.

Role-Based Security
Workers whose positions are assigned to the role used in the security group will automatically be members. Constrained to organizations assigned to in the role.
Ex. HR Partner
Job-Based Security
Based on job details (e.g. Job profile, management level). Automatic membership. Constrained to the organization.
Ex. IT Workers
Segment-Based Security
Based on included security groups.
Ex. Documents, Benefit Categories, etc.
Aggregation Security
Members are those in ANY of the included security groups.
Ex. Those in HR Partner OR Benefits Partner
Intersection Security
Members are those in ALL of the included security groups.
Ex. Those in HR Partner security group AND HR Partner by location.
Level-Based Security
Based on included levels.
Ex. Those in Manager management level can access talent card data for all those in lower management levels.
