HC1 Flashcards
Anti-Profit Belief (APB)
The perception that profit seeking conflict with beneficial outcomes for consumers and society (because of the zero sum game)
Zero sum game
Many individuals perceive market exchanges as a zero-sum game, where the gain of one party (the business) comes at the expense of another (the consumer or society). This viewpoint suggests that if a company makes a profit, it must be taking something away from consumers or exploiting resources.
