Last line of stanza reinforced the notion that people in politics are indifferent rulers disgusing their twisted principles as one that benefits manning but over exists to benefit themselves

Those who question people in politics will be struck down and removed as this is perceived to be “right” for those in power
Individual perspective where “my eye has permitted no change”
Indicating their arrogance in assuming absolute power and control to further their self interest
