Immediate relight
Throttle - off Relight button - press Throttle - idle (check ROT lit on EMP) TGT and RPM - monitor If no relight within 30 seconds or overtemp likely Throttle - off If time critical Eject or force land Otherwise Carry out assisted or cold relight If relight successful Carry out post relight checks
Note:
During the relight momentary flames and/or trailing smoke may be visible from the exhaust pipe due to residual unburned fuel
Engine mechanical damage
Throttle - idle or minimum practical
Land as soon as possible
Engine seizure
Throttle - off Fuel pump - off LP cock - off Do not try to relight Eject or force land
Engine bay fire
Throttle - minimum practical Check for signs of fire If fire confirmed, Consider ejection Throttle - off Fuel pump switch - off LP cock - off If fire warning off and no other signs of fire Force land or eject If evidence of fire or fire warning light stays on for 45 seconds Eject If fire is not confirmed Throttle - minimum practical Land as soon as possible
GTS bay fire
Eng start switch - off Climb above 5000 ft agl and fly at 150 kias If tailplane control is lost Eject Otherwise Refer to GTS bay fire, yellow pg 14
Total hydraulic failure
If failure confirmed
(both hyd gauges below 1340 psi)
Eject
Smoke or fume
Oxygen - 100% Descend to below 25,000 ft Cabin conditioning switch - off Check for source of smoke If electrical fire suspected Faulty electrical equipment - off If smoke or fumes severe Speed - reduce to minimum Visors and seat - lower Sit erect and close eyes tightly MDC handle - pull (from rear seat if possible) Land as soon as possible
Oxygen Failure
Supply on, connections, mask - Check If no improvement felt Emergency oxygen handle - pull Main oxygen supply - off Main oxygen hose - disconnect (when all emergency oxygen used Descend below 10,000-ft cabin altitude Land as soon as possible
