Application Software
A program designed for end-users.
Backup
A copy/s of data/files so that if the original is lost/corrupted it can be restored.
Command Line Interface
An interface to communicate with the computer and execute commands via text.
Data Aggregation
Process of gathering data and presenting it in a summarized format.
Data Analysis
Process of looking at data to see if there are any patterns or useful information.
Data Conversion
Process of converting data from one format to another.
Disk Access
Accessing memory on a computer disk to see data.
File Systems
A system of laying out and organizing files to easily find and access them.
Graphical User Interface
An interface to communicate with the computer that uses graphical media eg. icons, images and menus.
Hardware
A physical computer component.
Software
A program that runs on the computer.
Input Device
A piece of hardware that a human uses which is converted to useful data that a computer can use.
Interrupt
A signal sent to the computer to stop execution of current code and run the code that need’s urgent execution.
Kernel
A program at the core of the computer that controls the whole computer and lets hardware and software communicate with each other.
Memory Management
System of managing computer memory between several processes and tasks.
