How does the central processing unit (CPU) work?

A

The CPU does something that is called the ‘IPOS’ Cycle. It stands for Input, Processing, Output, and Storage. It is a sequence where it processes the instructions, data, and information on the computer.

How does the IPOS Cycle work?

A

Input is given first to get the desired output and the input is processed before the output is released. In essence, the CPU takes instructions from a program/application and performs calculations.

A

The primary storage is a key component on a computer. It communicates with the CPU to turn on and use the computer.

There are two types of primary storage.
Random Access Memory (RAM)
Read Only Memory (ROM)
Both of these are present inside a computer.

A

Secondary storage comes in different ways. Hardware e.g. (HDDs, SSDs) and online (iCloud, OneDrive). It stores the files and programs (data) on your computer for the long-term.

A peripheral device is an external auxiliary hardware device used to receive and/or send information to the computer to produce a result. Prime examples of a peripheral device would be a mouse, keyboard, and a speaker.

A

A

Check if the monitor is connected to power to the back of the monitor and the power point as well. Check if the HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA etc. is connected securely and correctly between the monitor and the device.
