Roll along a finger to ensure it spins freely with no rocking
What noises can be heard when a handpiece is faulty?
Abnormal sounds, working handpieces are CONSISTENT in sound
What is the protocol for a faulty handpiece?
Inform dental nurse/clinical staff its faulty and outline the fault
What should not happen with a faulty handpiece
Be put back for decontamination, it should be sent off for repair immediately
