HPI: Twisting injury with foot planted; swelling and pain over 24 hours post-injury; knee locking or effusion
PE: Loss of smooth motion or inability to squat/kneel
Meniscus Tear

CC: Knee pain
HPI: Acute onset or trauma to the knee from lateral side or front
PE: Tenderness/swelling with joint instability; Anterior/posterior drawer tests positive; abnormal motion
ACL/MCL/LCL tear

CC: Knee pain or Big Toe Pain
HPI: Recurrent attacks, extremely painful/sensitive to even the gentlest of touches, 1st MCP involvement
PE: Exquisitely tender joins with erythema/edema
Gout (MSU crystal) or pseudogout (CPPD crystal)

HPI: Progressive Pain, no systemic symptoms, crepitus, present on weight bearing joint, morning stiffness
Osteoarthritis

HPI: Fever, fatigue, stiffness in morning that improves with use, no DIP involvement, lasts longer than 6 weeks
PE: Swollen tender joints, limited joint movement, Rheumatoid nodules
Rheumatoid Arthritis

HPI: Fever, chills, fatigue malaise with a red, hot, swollen joint
PE: Red, hot, swollen joint
