Hand intrinsic muscles Flashcards
Dorsal interossei Origin
Adjacent sides of two metacarpal bones
Dorsal interossei insertion
Base of proximal phalanges, extensor expansion of digits 2-4
Dorsal interossei action
Adbuct digits from axial ling of hand (3rd digit); flex digits at metocarpophalangeal joints and extend interphalangeal joints
Dorsal interossei innervation
Ulnar nerve (deep branch)
Dorsal interossei blood supply
deep palmar arch
Palmar interossei origin
Sides of metacarpals 2,4 and 5
Palmar interossei Insertion
Bases of proximal phalanx and extensor expansion of digits 2,4 and 5
Palmar interossei action
Adducts digits towards axial line of hand (3rd digit) Flexes digits at metacarpophalangeal joint and extends interphalangeal joints
Palmar interossei innervation
Ulnar nerve (deep branch)
Palmar interossei blood supply
deep palmar arch
