Attaches to flexor retinaculum and tubercle of trapezium to lateral base of prox phalanx of thumb

Actions: flexes prox phalanx of thumb

Attaches to lateral 2 tendons of FDP to lateral sides of extensor expansion of digits 2 and 3
Innervated by median N
Actions: extend interphalangeal joints, flex metacarpophalangeal joints
Lumbrical, 3rd and 4th
Attaches to medial 3 tendons of FDP to lateral sides extensor expansion of digits 4 and 5
Innervated by deep branch of ulnar N
Actions: extend interphalangeal joints, flex metacarpophalangeal joints

Attaches to the flexor retinaculum and hook of hamate to the palmar surface of the 5th met

Actions: draws 5th met anteriorly and rotates it to face thumb
Opponens pollicis
Attaches to the flexor retinaculum and tubercle of trapezium to the lateral side of the 1st met
Innervated by the recurrent branch of the median N
Actions: draws 1st met forward and rotates it medially
Palmar interosseous muscles
Attaches to the sides of metacarpals 2,4 and 5 to bases of prox phalanx and extensor expansion of digits 2, 4 and 5
Innervated by the deep branch of the ulnar N
Actions: adducts digits toward 3rd digit; flexes digits at metacarpophalangeal joint and extends interphalangeal joints
Palmaris brevis
Attaches to the palmar aponeurosis and flexor retinaculum to the skin of the medial border of palm
Innervated by the superficial palmar branch of the ulnar N
Actions: deepens hollow of hand, assists grip
