Hamlin 2022 - TD Lines Flashcards
To learn all lines for TD
What happened to no news was good news?
No crime, I picked up a purple down the river just last night
As I was saying, the big dogs over at capital HQ say that in order to keep us all in the job we’ve got to go over our unsolved case list
What unsolved case? We’ve got a perfect record
Well you better put it in the microwave and heat it up. Now get your act together. Ace this is deputy Tannis Deacon, highest arrest count from here to Hungary. Goes by TD
Damn straight
You heard the chief, I wanna see everything you’ve got from back then
Do you think we don’t know protocol? You think just cause some big shot in Berlin gave you a badge it means you can come digging up old bones. You wanna know what happened - Leslie get the box - we’ll tell you what happened
Do you think we don’t know protocol? You think just cause some big shot in Berlin gave you a badge it means you can come digging up old bones. You wanna know what happened - Leslie get the box - we’ll tell you what happened
Okay, let’s go back. Its hamlin, it’s June and the town is thriving
All through the night the town cats hissed
And on the morning of the festival, the decorations were found to be tattered and squirming
Piper line…. and I played a different tune
But the fateful day, the stranger returned, playing and unfathomable rhythm. They summond the children as payment… never to ne seen again
Woah, woah, not so fast. That’s it? That’s all you’ve got? Wheres the rest? You’re telling me none of you looked into this before? No ones even questioned it. It is your whole towns history, this case reads like a fairy tale
You told us to read the case report didn’t you. Well this is what it says, as Jam said, it was years ago
The town was trying hard as it could to get itself back on its feet after all those rats. It must’ve been a nightmare, no wonder no one was paying much attention
Well, children under the trance of magical flute don’t tend to cry out
Mines a badger
Hamlin and its traditions
Right… so the motive for the piper is revenge? But why wasn’t he payed? What do we have on the mayor of hamlin?
Leslie!
Leslie!
Well, there are two trains of thought. Either the mayor
I’ll start rummaging through the Airways. Give me a minute
Beets leaves
Just a word of warning friend, I think we’re digging into a dead end.
Why’d you say that? I think it’s just good to get your team moving
Listen, I just think you should be careful. Hamlin’s doing well, really well. Resurfacing that trauma for these people might not go the way you think
Hey ace, come get a load of this
The truth won’t bring those kids back
What are you talking about?
It was clearly the piper
But what’s the truth?
Does it matter? Every witness described the same stranger that took the children and the rats up the kopparberg. They never found them. Do you have to keep rubbing it in?
Hear me out. Everyone heard different tunes because there were loads of different instruments. The kids probably thought it was a part of the festival, went up for a dance and the stranger trapped them or whatever they did! Imagine it, that whole cave filled with music
This sounds more like a fantasy then a theory Beets. Why would the stranger put on a show before doing whatever they did
Possibly. But thats not important right now. There’s more. We all know before the rats the crops had been good, not just here but all over Germany. But in that year that perfect mix of warm and most had formed a parasite! A fungus in the grain
I think I’ve heard enough
The fungus made the adults sick but it affected the young differently. Effected the nervous system first. What if it was the dancing plague.
Are you done yet?
It was all over Germany, why not hamlin? It explains why they were all drawn to the music. Maybe the piper even planted the fungus. Or there was no piper at all and the town just used a scapegoat to explain the tragedy
Oh give me a break
After rave scene - box closed
That’s what you want to tell the town. That they danced themselves to death?
Please can I explain its important
I thought this was about making ourselves look busy for the HQ. Not spreading some crazy rumour that the kids ate some mushrooms and raved so hard they died
If you don’t care about the truth then what type of cop are you?
I’m the best cop this town has left
ENOUGH! you know we said that those witness reports were full of inconsistencies. Well there’s a reason
Leslie, can I have a word outside
There never was one
Guess that’s your theory debunked then beets
Coming with?
I’ll catch you up
It’s almost time Leslie, let’s go find out what they know. Jam go help sam and Beets and report back soon as
Hey Leslie, you know how the car seizes up, go get it started or you’ll never make it in time
Hey Leslie, you know how the car seizes up, go get it started or you’ll never make it in time
Leslie leaves
Meet me up the Kopparberg as soon as you can. Whatever this lowlife has to tell you it ain’t worth believing. Make up an excuse and ill see you there
Hey Where’s ace?
Couldn’t tell you
Feeding the ducks again
Beets listen to me. I’ve known you for a long time. If I could just speak to you alone
TD, you okay?
Good, you’re here. We’re you followed?
What’s this about. Why’d you bring me all the way up here?
I need to show you something. Somewhere where we wouldn’t be listened in on.
What the hell is this, why do you have this, why have you been keeping this from us!? You were involved somehow, hey stay away from me
Listen to me, there is a lot you do not understand. You’ve come here and jeopardised everything I’ve worked for.
Everything you’ve worked for, you’re sick
You’re being led astray, all of this flimsy evidence - its to keep you from finding out the truth
Led astray, by who?
Things were never good in hamlin, no food, no jobs, no future. Not till that summer festival, and the lie they concocted meant we became world famous. We’ve never had a bad year since. Business is booming. While apples rot on the vine
You’re saying, the town. Their own children
Hamlin and its traditions
I don’t believe you
Look down there ace. Think how easy it would be to slip. To make someone else slip. One moment and it’d be over. No more mouths to feed
