Ihram
A state of purity with 3 requirements: complete body purification, wearing burial shrouds, and adhering to rules of conduct. Disobeying invalidates hajj.
Tawaf
Circumambulation of the Kaaba 7 times, chanting Sahada, and attempting to touch the black stone. Symbolizes connection to God and the universe.
Sa’y
Ritual of running or walking briskly 7 times between Safa and Marwah, commemorating Hagar’s desperate search for water and the well of ZamZam.
Mina
Pilgrimage site where pilgrims sleep, pray, and leave for the plain of Arafat on the 9th day of Dhul al-Hijahh.
Wuquf
Most important day of Hajj, on the 9th day of Dhul-Hijjah, where pilgrims seek forgiveness, cleanse the soul, and believe all prayers are answered.
Muzdalifah
Site where pilgrims pray Maghrib and Isha, collect pebbles, and perform Al-Maghira and Alisha prayers after sunset on the 9th day.
Jamarat
On the 10th day of Dhull Hajj, pilgrims throw stones at the Large Jamarah, symbolizing the rejection of temptation from the devil and submission to Allah.
Eid Al Adha
Commemoration of the end of Hajj, involving animal sacrifice and shaving the head to complete the pilgrimage.
