what is hajj
hajj is a pilgrimage that should be performed by all muslims at least once in their lifetime if they are physically finacially and menatly fit for it
hajj follows the examples of and actions of the phrophets ibrahim and muhammed in thevery place they performed them.
adam built a sanctuarty at makkah which was then re built by ibrihim as described in surah 2;124-130
‘we made a house and resort for people’
how is hajj performed
the rituals of hajj are based on the intructions in surah 22;27-29 ‘then let the pilgrims perform their acts of cleansing,fufill their vows and circle around the ancient house’
explain the process of hajj preperation
ihram; remove pubic hair,tkae a purifying bath,dress in white both wome and men to show they are eqaul during hajj
they offer prayers
they declare their intention to perform hajj and recite the talbiyah
name the5 rituals of hajj and what is done
tawaf-visit the kabah
saya-jogging or walking between hills 7 times
wuquf-repentance and prayer
sacrifice-an animal sacrifice
halak-shave head and beards and woman dip the ends of their hair
why is hajj important
-they are obeying thr commads of allah
it is a reminder that they are from allah and will return to alah in the akirah
-there are inspired by geat phrophets and follow there example
reminder that the religion came from adam
3 beniftits of hajj
the opportunity to repent and have sins forgiven
bringing muslims close to allah for a week
unity of over 2 million muslims of all races and cultures in the same place performing the same actions
3 challenges of hajj
-it is a very physically demanding ritual
-there are fatalities every year
-hajj is a very expensive pilgramage
