Vellus
Very fine peach fuzz on most of our body. Shallow follicle and 2-4 mm in length.
They can change into terminal hairs when exorcised to increased levels of androgen (male) hormones, puberty, aging, medications, and certain disorders
Anagen
Growth phase of hair
Catagen
Recession/transition phase of hair
Telogen
Resting/dormant phase of hair
Hirsutism
Effects only women. Excessive hair growth in male pattern
Hypertrochosis
Excessive hair growth or distribution anywhere on the body males for females
PCOS
Levels of estrogen and progesterone are out of balance.
PCOS is not a contraindication

4 weeks NO sun exposure waxing tweezing tannin beds, spray tan, chemical peels PDO threads , deems fillers
Intermediate
Thin hair with some pigmentation between vellus and terminal
Terminal
Longer thicker and darker hair. Supported by a deep follicle and can grow very long depending on location. Legs, pubic, head, aculla, arms and legs
Hair follicle
Tunnel like sac that begins at the epidermis and surrounds and supports structure and growth of the hair. Produces vellus hair
Hair bulb
Living cells that constantly divide to build and grow the hair. Where you can find melanocytes that produce melanin that gives the hair its color
Hair Bulge
Middle section of the hair follicle just below the arrector puli muscle.
