Umar and his wife were talking and Umar said ‘ i shall do so and so’ and his wife said ‘ i think its better if u did such and such’ Umar responded with ‘ are u arguing with me women?’ ‘ why not?’ she answered. ‘ your daughter argues with the messenger of Allah until she upsets him for a whole day’ so Umar immediately left his house to his daughters. He asked if it was true and she said yes. before he was to chastise her for her bad manners the prophet came and would not allow him to touch her. SO Umar went to Umm Salama seeking advise and she said ‘ you have interfered with everything, will you know interfere with the messenger and his wives?’

what happened after Hafsa’s husband passed away in the battle of badr?
Umar went and asked Uthman if he would take his daughters hand in marriage and he told him he will think about it a few days later he declined. Umar then went to Abu BAkr and asked him to take his daughters hand in marriage and he kept silent whivh made Umar very upset and annoyed. He went to Muhammad saw and he smiled and said Hasfa will marry one better than Uthman and Uthman will marry one better than Hafsa.
what caused Muhammad to go back to Hafsa after wanting to get a divorce?
it was due to Allah sending down angel Jibraeel to him saying that she often fasts and prays at night; she will be your wife in paradise
