Emergency breaks will be set or will have chocks placed both in front and behind of real wheels. One chock will be placed between the tandem wheels of dual (tandem axle) vehicles. The only vehicles exempt from these requirements are emergency vehicles responding to an emergency

Proximity to Aircraft

A

Approach drivers side toward aircraft. Personnel will park the vehicle parallel to the wing axis, with ignition off, key left in ignition, parking brake set and the transmission aces in low gear. Speed limit is 5 MPH

A clear zone of 200 ft either side of helicopter operations is required to permit a safe departure or approach route. This clear zone must be strictly adhered to.

A

Escort lead will brief drivers on route, speed, procedures, etc. escort will not exceed 5 vehicles at one time. Emergency vehicles are exempt

When Reporting Off the Runway

A

Will ensure receipt of a response indicating the Control Tower understands they are no longer on the controlled movement area or runway. Vehicle operators will use the word “OFF”. Do not use CLEAR, CLEARED, or CLEARANCE
