What are the features of haemoptysis caused by bronchitis?
Small amounts of blood with sputum.
What are the features of haemoptysis caused by bronchial carcinoma?
Frank blood, history of smoking, hoarseness.
What are the features of haemoptysis caused by pneumonia?
Fever, recent onset of symptoms, dyspnoea.
What are the features of haemoptysis caused by pulmonary infarction?
Pleuritic chest pain, dyspnoea.
What are the general history features of haemoptysis caused by lung abscess?
Fever, purulent sputum.
What are the Hx features of haemoptysis caused by TB?
Previous TB / contact with TB.
HIV +ve status.

Hx of inhalation
Cough

Hx features of haemoptysis due to ruptured mucosal blood vessel after vigorous coughing?
Hx of severe cough preceding haemoptysis.
