Haematology - RBC Parameters Flashcards

1
Q

General

A

Assessed by blood sample (venous/finger prick/heel prick), counted by enumerating electronic impulses generated when cells flow between light source and sensor when cells flow through electrical field (WBC/RBC/platelet count), spectrometer by converting Hb to stable form and measuring light absorption at specific wavelength, Hb was initially measured by centrifuging blood sample (Hct initially called pack cell volume (PCV))
